How to Use Data and Argument Topics to Your Advantage
How to Use Data and Argument Topics to Your AdvantageIn case you've ever lost a teacher and had to memorize some concepts, one of the most important concepts that they taught you was that evaluative argument topics help students memorize and retain the information better. But what does it mean? What is this concept? Is there any way to actually learn how to use this skill to your advantage?Evaluative argument is the process by which students learn and apply different types of data for the purpose of providing a clear and concise summary of the subject under discussion. Basically, it helps students understand the analysis of facts and learn how to derive conclusions based on that. It is important that students learn how to present these findings and are able to communicate their interpretations clearly to others. In fact, students can benefit from an evaluative argument because this helps them learn how to formulate logical reasoning in order to help them construct persuasive argument s that will be convincing. What students should know is that they can also make use of other ways to summarize the subject matter. As an example, one of the most important concept that teachers and professors are always teaching students is using data to support the arguments they make in class. Students might argue that there is not enough evidence to support their claims and so they resort to other means of justifying their point of view. But there are plenty of ways to discuss and present information that you may find more appealing in the long run. To help students learn how to use this concept effectively, here are a few important methods that you should introduce to them.- As a class, students need to participate in discussions and debates about various topic areas including data and argument topics. One of the best ways of doing this is to have the students write a short essay on the topic. This method is usually done through discussion and debate rather than the use of questi on and answer format. In this way, the students can see how they are defending their position and argue against other student's views and theories. Students will be able to discover the ideas that they had in their minds, but then they will be able to verbalize those ideas and put them into words.- Some students might choose to participate in debates over controversial issues such as evolution, global warming or racism. These debates would help the students learn how to formulate arguments that will impress others. With the help of this method, students can learn how to persuade other students and convince them that they are right. In the same way, students can learn how to relate and compare different points of view. Another benefit is that they can learn how to use and evaluate information effectively. Evaluative argument topics provides students with an opportunity to do so.- The fact that students learn to explain their point of view using different methods and tools is very hel pful. This will allow them to learn how to connect and form arguments that will convince others of their points of view. It also helps students learn to communicate in a persuasive manner and improve their skills on the importance of clarity and logical reasoning. There are other important concepts that should be taught in every class and one of them is to teach students to use the data and argument topics to their advantage. Teachers should encourage this approach in their students and make it part of their daily training programs.

Research Paper Proposal Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words - 1
Research Paper Proposal - Essay Example If we believe that racism is dead and quit looking for it, we are being set up for a repeat of our past. When we no longer openly discuss racism, we allow it to slowly fester beneath the surface of our society. We are ignoring the elephant in the room while it is slowly growing larger and larger. I hope to prove that racism is still alive. I hope to find evidence that society destroyed the old Jim Crow laws and other forms of open racism only to replace them with hidden racism. I want to discover how racism, now that it is no longer openly tolerated in society, has gone underground. I want to discover how, when we no longer discuss racism, it grows outside of our consciousness. I care about the topic of racism because it is a part of our society that I believe will never fully disappear. Humans always make snap judgments based on appearances. This reflex is what allows us to avoid poisonous snakes based on the shape of their heads or the patterns on their backs. But, this same reflex causes us to make snap decisions about people that grow and become racism. These decisions then become a part of our society and become tolerated. Regardless of your race, racism affects every member of our society. Racism keeps our society from making progress by insuring that certain members of our society do not make social progress. If we subjugate members of our population, our society is unable to fully realize its potential. Discoveries that these members may make are nullified by the fact that we tolerate discrimination and racism. Currently, most of our society wants to believe that racism is dead. However, just one example that it is not is the current social status of black members of American society. Historically, the black population has been less wealthy than other members of society. This disparity is a result of slavery and institutional racism. If we are to believe current commentators, education is the path to wealth and

Assess the concept of emotional intelligence and its role in human Essay - 2
Assess the concept of emotional intelligence and its role in human service organisations - Essay Example In contrast, psychologists claim that emption have four major progressive stages, like feeling, motivation, evaluation, and cognition. On the other hand, philosophers are largely interested in the concepts of rationality and emotion (Walton, 2012). This essay analyses the concept of emotional intelligence and its role in human service organisations, in social work practice particularly. The actual explanation of the reasons for emotion-arousals is still unknown till now. Nevertheless, numerous scholars believe that there is a direct connection between recognising major changes in a personââ¬â¢s circumstances and stimulation of emotions. They argue that human beings compare their present circumstances with past ones, and when the extent of present arousal goes beyond the degree they have felt long enough to become used to it, stimulation of emotion occurs (Matthews et al., 2004). Experimental studies report that stimulation of basic and usual emotions, like hatred, love, fear, happiness, sadness, and sexual urge substantiates such reports. It could also be mentioned that the norms of comparisons that human beings use rely on a personââ¬â¢s own source of judgment or belief, and thus is not immune from personal prejudice (Howe, 2008). It could be emphasised that the observed changes in circumstances, which bring about stimulation of emotions, do not have to be r eal at all times. In reality, human beings at times regard imagined scenarios facilitating production of emotions. It is a widely recognised fact that individuals at times are needlessly anxious and fearful of unfamiliar situations. Emotional intelligence (EI) is regarded as a newly developed academic discipline. In a philosophical sense, it means the ââ¬Å"competence to identify and express emotions, understand emotions, assimilate emotions in thought and regulate emotions in the self and in othersâ⬠(Matthews et
